Fun in Washington

July 8, 2018

We have had a lot of fun in Washington for the past 4 weeks.  It’s hard to believe that we are leaving tomorrow.  Where has the time gone?

We arrived in Everett, WA on June 11, 2018.  Once we got checked into Maple Grove RV Resort we setup our home for the next month.

We were at the end of the row, and had a lot of privacy.

It rained off and on throughout our stay here, but that made for some amazing sunsets (at about 9pm).

Being so far north the sun rose around 5am and set around 9pm.  Our internal clocks were out of sync for a month.

On June 18, 2018 we took a drive to Northpoint Gun Range and did a little practice shooting.  We played a fun game of Battleship.  Poor Fungi’s battleships were sunk in less than 20 shots.

Too bad, Fungi! On the way back to Everett we stopped at a mall and had fun goofing around.

On June 19, 2018 we went to the beach.  This was not the kind of beach you want to walk barefoot on.  Too much rocks, shells and seaweed.  But amazingly beautiful views across Puget Sound.

After celebrating Little BooBoo’s birthday on June 24, 2018 we went for a ferry ride across the Sound to Whidbey Island.  It was really windy on the ferry.

We drove around the island for about an hour then headed back to the ferry for the return trip.  There was hardly any wind as we headed back.  It was a lot of fun, but too short of a ride.  Maybe next time we can take one of the longer ferry rides across Puget Sound.  After the ferry ride we played miniature golf.  Loser buys dinner.  Poor Fungi, lost at golf, then got beat by the punching bag.

What a great birthday for Little BooBoo!

June 30, 2018.  Little BooBoo was interested in learning about distilling whiskey so we took a ride to the Woodinville Whiskey Company.  See Woodinville Whiskey Tour for details.

On July 4th, 2018 we were invited to a barbecue by Little BooBoo’s boyfriend’s parents.  We had a great time meeting all the family who came to the barbecue, then enjoyed hotdogs, salads, chips and salsa and deviled eggs.  Since it was an uncle’s birthday we had birthday cake and cupcakes for dessert.  Afterward we played golf at the golf course in the backyard.

Since it doesn’t get dark until late we went to one of Little BooBoo’s co-worker’s house for fireworks and started setting them off while it was still light out.  There were a lot of fireworks in the neighborhood so we got to enjoy a loud Independence Day!  Fireworks in California are restricted to ground only so it was exciting watching everyone setting off fireworks that shot up into the sky.  We usually only get to see fireworks like that at Disneyland!

Today, July 8, 2018,  Little BooBoo and Fungirl went shopping since we both will be guests at upcoming weddings this month.

We found some very nice dresses, then headed back to polish toenails.  We had a quiet dinner and evening in preparation for heading out tomorrow.  As always, it was hard to say goodbye to Little BooBoo.  There were a few tears, but we’ll be seeing each other around Thanksgiving if not sooner.

It’s been an amazing 4 weeks, but it’s time to head back to California to finish emptying the house so we can start our next adventure.

Stay tuned!
