Wheel of Fortune Wheelmobile in Camp Verde, AZ

March 11, 2018

Today the Fungi is taking a trip to Camp Verde, AZ to see the Wheel of Fortune Wheelmobile.  It’s about an hour and 15 minute drive north on Interstate 17. It was a beautiful ride!
We were intrigued when we saw the exit sign for Bloody Basin Rd in Mayer, AZ.  We looked it up on the internet to see if there is a story and found that we’re not the only ones interested.  There are a couple of myths about Bloody Basin.  The following link will take you to a page where you can read The Traditional Story of the Massacre and The Yavapai Story of the Massacre: http://prescottazhistory.blogspot.com/2016/06/the-true-victims-of-bloody-basin-were.html We were fascinated by the history.

When we arrived at Cliff Castle Casino in Camp Verde AZ we found that because of the weather the Wheel of Fortune event had been moved inside so we didn’t actually get to see the Wheelmobile.  But we did get to sign up to play, and possibly be chosen to be on the Wheel of Fortune.

Even though we weren’t chosen to play Wheel of Fortune today they might draw one of our names randomly, so there’s still hope.  After the games were over the Fungi got to pose with Vanna and Pat.

Then he played the penny slots while waiting in line for the buffet and won $100.

Fungi was having a real fun day! And a very nice lady gave us a Buy One, Get One Free coupon for the buffet, which was great, by the way. There was pot roast, prime rib, pork chops, beef stew, mashed potatoes, fingerling potatoes, shrimp cocktail, too many salads to mention, and a bunch of yummy desserts, all for only $14!

On the way home the skies were getting ready to rain on Arizona again. There was even a cloud that looked like a horse. Beautiful!
